Who gave themself a boost and who created more work for themselves after 1 game in the 2026 NFL Preseason

The Ravens opened the preseason with a convincing 24-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but the final score was far less important than what happened further down the depth chart. With Baltimore resting most of its established starters, Saturday night provided an extended look at the players fighting for roster spots, larger roles and position on the depth chart.

Several players who had already generated buzz during training camp carried that momentum into M&T Bank Stadium. Others used their first extended game action to force their way into the conversation.

Here are my biggest risers — and one notable faller — coming out of Baltimore’s preseason opener.

RISERS

Ja’Kobi Lane, WR

It’s hard to believe Lane’s stock could rise much higher after the camp he’s put together, but he somehow managed it Saturday night. Lane caught all three of his targets for 38 yards and a touchdown, including a 16-yard score, while showing good separation and making a pair of tough catches over the middle in traffic.

The Ravens have been waiting to see whether the camp hype would translate when the lights came on. Lane gave them a pretty convincing answer.

Matthew Hibner, TE

Baltimore’s tight end depth has generated some concern throughout camp, making Hibner’s performance particularly encouraging. He caught all five of his targets for 61 yards, including a 29-yard gain on a wheel route where his speed and separation immediately jumped off the screen.

Hibner looked comfortable as a receiver, showed reliable hands and gave the Ravens something they desperately needed in their TE room.
