The first preseason outing has come and gone for the Ravens, and the content train for Baltimore Film Breakdown has begun moving ahead towards a full steam pace. With not much news to break down from a slow Sunday in the afterglow of game one, let’s take a quick look at everything we’ve put out, and get you caught up on all things Ravens football to get your week started.
The Opening Drive, 8/16: Risers & Fallers, Preseason Game #1
The Ravens opened the preseason with a convincing 24-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but the final score was far less important than what happened further down the depth chart. With Baltimore resting most of its established starters, Saturday night provided an extended look at the players fighting for roster spots, larger roles and position on the depth chart.
In yesterday’s Opening Drive, Cole had the pleasure of actual game film to offer analysis on, and he opened things up by looking at some risers and fallers based on what we saw on Saturday night. Some of the risers (Ja’Kobi Lane, Vega Ioane) were fairly obvious ones, but there were some pleasant surprises that made the list, like rookie QB Joe Fagnano. There are also some players we’ll want to see more from moving forward like Aeneas Peebles, who’s going to be relied upon at a thin position.
FILM ROOM: The Debut of Vega Ioane
Our first live fire film room of 2026 features Cole making the video he’s been waiting all offseason for: a look at the debut of Ravens’ first round pick, Vega Ioane. This is one you don’t want to miss, as Ioane (the highest picked offensive lineman for Baltimore since Ronnie Stanley in 2016) was expected to look like every bit the part in his first time officially suiting up for the team. While there were some things to clean up, the highly pedigreed youngster lived up to the billing with a clean outing that included one or two highlight reel moments - check out the above video to get the full rundown.
Game Notes: Ravens Rookies Shine in the Debut of the Jesse Minter Era
The Ravens have moved to 1-0 after a 24-7 routing of the Philadelphia Eagles in the Next Flight era for both Jesse Minter and the Ravens uniforms. However, the score didn’t reflect how the game felt. The Ravens were absolutely dominant, outgaining the Eagles 440 to 159.

Player Spotlight: Danny Pinter
Offensive line has never been the sexiest position group in the NFL, but it’s certainly one of the most important. That’s doubly true for a Ravens team that has seen some shaky play at positions along the line the last several seasons, and paid dearly for it with big game blunders, and injuries to their starting quarterback.
As far as pivot points on this roster, there may not be a more high profile competition for the starting role than at the center position. Jake sat down to take a look at the starter in this game (and potential starter for the regular season), Danny Pinter. He came away pretty impressed by what he saw, and ran through five clips of some positives, and some things for the seventh year veteran to work on.
