The first preseason outing has come and gone for the Ravens, and the content train for Baltimore Film Breakdown has begun moving ahead towards a full steam pace. With not much news to break down from a slow Sunday in the afterglow of game one, let’s take a quick look at everything we’ve put out, and get you caught up on all things Ravens football to get your week started.

The Opening Drive, 8/16: Risers & Fallers, Preseason Game #1

The Ravens opened the preseason with a convincing 24-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but the final score was far less important than what happened further down the depth chart. With Baltimore resting most of its established starters, Saturday night provided an extended look at the players fighting for roster spots, larger roles and position on the depth chart.

In yesterday’s Opening Drive, Cole had the pleasure of actual game film to offer analysis on, and he opened things up by looking at some risers and fallers based on what we saw on Saturday night. Some of the risers (Ja’Kobi Lane, Vega Ioane) were fairly obvious ones, but there were some pleasant surprises that made the list, like rookie QB Joe Fagnano. There are also some players we’ll want to see more from moving forward like Aeneas Peebles, who’s going to be relied upon at a thin position.
